The international geo-science community has the
vast bulk of specialised knowledge, technical skills
and significant expertise, required to provide the
essential resources for a safe environment that
humans use to meet various needs in order to live. A
global geoscientific expertise allows to provide a
reliable, affordable and sustainable supply of
mineral, energetic and biological resources; to
secure both the human and environmental
requirements in terms of drinkable water, clean air
and fertile soil; to manage waste for environmentalprotection purpose; to strengthen public health; and
to sustain whole-of-society resilience against the
deleterious effects of a broad range of natural and
man-made hazards in the short, medium and long
terms.
The First International Conference on Geo-sciences
and Environment, that will be held in Mascara
(Algeria) in September 25-26, 2021, aims at bringing
together scientists, academics and researchers in
order to share their respective experiences and
present the results of their research on every aspect
of geology, hydrology, hydrogeology, and
environmental sciences. Within this scope it will also
provide a first-order interdisciplinary platform to
researchers, practitioners and educators, so as to
present and discuss the most recent innovations,
trends and concerns, but also to expose the
practical challenges they have met and the
pragmatic solutions embarked subsequently in
connection with geology, hydrology, hydrogeology
and environmental sciences.
The topics selected for this scientific workshop are
the exploration, quality, preservation, protection,
exploitation, and sustainable development of raw
materials, mineral, energetic and biological
resources.
